My PhD research (2019-2023) aims to find new photographic ways of re-imagining Romanian culture from afar through disciplinary and interdisciplinary photographic methods and to identify possible entangled situations. It also aims to offer, here in the UK, a new portrait of Romanian culture, through its wolf mythologies.
It questions how can a practice of photographing objects help to re-imagine Romanian culture from afar through the photographic image? This is the main question that led the initial stages of this research and created new questions, including, what is the photo-entanglement.

Drawing on my PhD work and expertise, in September 2023, I have launched a new project: the Chester Photo Festival (see link: https://chesterphotofestival.com).
This festival, opened to the public on 1st May 2024, will provide a platform for people from all over the world and at all levels to work with photography as a creative practice to share their stories, folklore, myths, feelings and memories. (see mission and vision page at https://chesterphotofestival.com/About).
